Welcome to Oklo Gear. Our philosophy has always been built on two things: a decades-long career in the transport and logistics industry and a lifelong passion for the New Zealand outdoors.

In the world of logistics, I’ve learned that reliability is everything. When you are responsible for the flow of goods and the safety of people on the road, you develop a very low tolerance for gear that doesn't perform. I’ve brought that same "no-nonsense" professional eye to everything you see here.

The "New Frontier" of Traditional Camping

I’m an avid camper and caravanner at heart. I grew up with the "Old School" ideology—respecting the elements, knowing your equipment, and being self-sufficient. But I’ve also seen how the right technology can make those traditional experiences safer and more sustainable without losing the spirit of the journey.

I started Oklo Gear to bridge that gap. I’m passionate about integrating smart tech into classic setups. Whether it’s utilizing solar energy to maintain a "silent" campsite or using precision tracking to secure your gear, I believe in technology that works for you, not the other way around.
